Gosh this was 33 years ago, where has the time gone!

We do the same thing on the way down and take our time coming back. Our best time from Gig Harbor to San Diego was 19 hours but we usually average 20.

Good to know! I thought it would take much longer. Hmmm. There might be a road trip in my future - would love to meet all the Washingtonians!!!

His shoulder. He's had both knees replaced and that was a 2 month recovery. The shoulders are longer for some reason. Probably because of the ROM! Ha. He really needs the other shoulder done. He's in a lot of pain but we haven't recovered financially from the last surgery so he'll have to wait.

I used to break my own horses. No fractures though. Hitting the ground occasionally wasn't so bad but was younger and bounced back. Now not so much! The older you are the harder you fall. I haven't been on this last horse yet. He'll be 4 this year. I don't have any health insurance and don't want to take the chance. I can't afford to hire anyone right now so may just sell him but he's all I have left of the horse in my avatar. He is Sarah Bears babe. I miss her so. She was super easy to break and train. And so sweet. And gorgeous!

I came off a 2 yo thoroughbred in training, and fractured L2. I was paralyzed in my left leg for several days (wow, it was scary) then on my back in bed for 6 weeks. But, I was young then, and healed a lot faster than I do now.

[COLOR=800080]It's a very tasty, spicy, tomato based seafood (fruits de mer (French, for fruit of the sea)) soup/stew thing. You dip in big chunks of crusty bread, and you need a big bib because it dribbles all over you![/COLOR]

Also because the clams/mussels/(once oysters, but that was just wrong) are still in their shells. Best way to eat it is naked in a hot tub according to my Bay Area foodie cousins.

Apparently, DiMaggio's at Fisherman's Wharf was supposed to make the best ciopinno in San Francisco back when Joe and Dom were little boys playing stickball in the street.

Trained horses too (I trained Evel Knievels horse) but I'm not sure I could even get on one now with my shoulder this way. I have insurance (I'm so sorry you don't) but in my case, it's just not wanting to be out of action at ALL, 'cept now it's to the point I can't use it much anyway, so I may as well get it done. (Can only have so many cortisone shots before they stop letting you have them).

So the tear hasn't healed? What do they need to do to fix it?

I hear you. I used to do Combined Training (Jumping, Dressage, Cross Country) in my youth. So, after mention of the Hamburgs and their improbably durable abode, I thought I'd put up some photos.

This is one of the reasons there's nothing so permanent as a temporary solution. If I'd been able to put the time and energy into building the new run and coop that has been sacrificed to keeping the water out of this one I'd have been done with it in October (and the Wyandotte Run finished in September!) but as it is, and especially since I have to go out the orchard gate, around into the field gate to get to the south and west sides of the run. The storm door is going to be the human entry to their new run, but right now is a way they can see outside!






They're happy with it, especially now that they've got their teen idol cockerel in with them.
