Wow, I finally caught up...only 7 pages ?
I have to go to town

And this is EXACTLY why I will never be a B of A customer.  They got such bad press recently when they announced fees for ATM use that they backed down  - this must be their back-up plan  to make money off of their customers.  Those are huge fees!!!
B of A also made a deal with California's Employment Development Department to be the ATM card issuer for unemployment payments.  No more paper checks  - all funds are credited to the ATM cards and B of A is using this as an opportunity to try to get new accounts.  I'm happy to be a Wells Fargo customer ... and wish I qualified for a credit union ...

check to see if there is a credit union for your LOCATION ... not all of them are tied to a particular employer or to military ...
like around here, the Twin County credit union takes anyone who lives in the "twin counties" (Thurston and Lewis I think but could be Thurston and Kitsap)

you can also qualify sometimes if a relative does ... that's how I got into the FAA credit union, and to the Boeing Employees credit union

good luck

My Granmother cenini & Poppa Joe had a restaurant in Day City & another in San Mateo way way back.
The one was called "Joe's cafe" and had a long bar in it as well & Granma cooked.
Upstairs was a large home where my Mother grew up.

Cippiono was an everyday event.

She did stress that it is NOT fish stew, but is SHELLFISH STEW and should never have fin fish in it.
Prawns, clams, crab, crayfish & the like, although we do slice calamari tubes & put that in and I had added baby octopus tenticles and that was very good too.
It is spelled many different ways, the 'C' in Italian is pronounced as "Ch" when followed by e or i.
So to say it :
CHA- PEE-No

as my Mother's name is pronounced:
Cha-NEE-NEE (Cenini)
Anyways, a BIG pot of tomato base is made, as spaghetti sauce, lots of red wine, no meat though.
Fresh live shellfish is dropped in...ALIVE, unpeeled !.....crab cracked & cleaned & dropped in.
The whole thing is VERY messy as you sit & pick the meat from shells, peel shrimp & dip your bread.
DH gets so messy (with the moustache) that I make him take a shower afterwards...LOL
A big empty bowl sits in the center of the table where all the shells & shrimp peels go, and I usually cook pasta, rinse & drzzle EVOO, and have that on the table as well, as I love the pasta in the sea food sauce,,, SO YUMMY!!!!!!!!!
I see some prawns in this photo are peeled & that should not be done.
They should go into the pot intact, only heads removed.

looks similar to a mexican dish i love... though it normally has a lot of saffron and rice in it.
Paella.

I go to Cashmere Valley Bank.... and over here at WSU i do a lot of online banking (though federally you are limited to 6 online transfers per cycle)
No fees, none, zip, zero. i have a savings, checking and finally got a real credit card through them. no tricks. local banks are the way.
I only get interest for the money in my account. granted $2 isn't much....

at the fruitstand i have seen a lot of people with the Boeing credit union card. it must be good if everyone has it....
normally i don't like credit unions because the ones in our area... someone kept sending me text spam/scams.... i got tired of reporting it to the police.

CVB i use my debit card and never my check book. there is no cost or fee for using one or the other. Wheatland is a good bank to get loans through too. find a local bank and the money will stay local.

I thought Boeing Credit Union had changed and you no longer need to be an employee or have a relative be an employee. Pretty sure it's open to all Washintonians now.

My loathing of BofA has been growing since they killed the Seafirst name (not that Seafirst was inerrant, but I wanted a bank with more branches after being unable to cash a check from South Sound in Seattle so I could buy lunch back in 1973) and reached a peak when we received a big check from Oklahoma's Secretary of State about a week before Franklin's back surgery, and they held the funds for two weeks and then deposited it in savings instead of checking so there were no funds behind a check I tried to deposit to my account so I could pay bills while he was still hospitalized. I have to say, they're really, really good at maximizing credit card usage!

I keep hoping they'll go belly-up because it's the only way my husband will make the effort of changing all our accounts.

The worst thing, from my point of view, is how many of us ended up swallowed by BofA when we chose other banks, long ago- my sister is a BofA victim because they ate Rainier Bank, which had swallowed National Bank of Commerce, which gobbled up South Sound National Bank.

I've heard it described as "You have to have met somebody who worked at Boeing" which comes down to the same thing, right?

Yes, BCU is open to ANYBODY as long as you have Money

PM coming your way

The day that BECU opened up to anyone (10+ years ago), I closed my BofA accts and opened accts at BECU. I have never been more satified with any business, bank or otherwise. I would highly recommend them. The customer service is excellent. Their only downside is lack of branches on every corner.

I agree with ReiMiraa about the surgery. My DW is a receptionist at a PT office. She has a torn rotator cuff. the PT's in her office tell her not to have the surgery unless she is in GREAT pain. she has seen alot of patients come in with Torn rotator cuffs. some had very successful surgery others are now in worst shape then before the surge. The therapy takes a couple months. with my DW the pain comes and gos. she is 60 so the recovery time would be longer for her then somebody younger
