That is so nice of you to say! Of course I've always thought she was pretty, but might be a little biased... When you had mentioned that day that she reminded you of an angel from a Renaissance painting, this was the photo I had wanted to show you! We've always referred to it as her, "Mona Lisa Lily" photo but now that you mention it, it probably is more reminiscent of a Botticelli. I had just shot it with my camera phone one day while we were shopping at a mall in downtown Portland, but it's still one of my favorites...

Thanks for that, I guess, the only time I had noticed it was when the rooster was with the hens, so, I assumed it was from that??

Hello, brand new here to Backyardchickens.comHad chickens growing up and now I am the proud mother of a 4 yo that has a strong interest in raising them. So of course, I'm ok with that! We have two, three day old Lavendar Orpingtons and are avidly researching the other breed we want to add to the brooder. On the list..... Barred Rock, BLRW, Jubilee Orp, Buff Orp and RIR. I also had an amazing little Silkie growing up so would love to add one to the bunch eventually
If any of you Washingtonians close-ish to Everett are hatching any of these soon, let me know!!! I'm just looking for quality friendly chicks that will be loved in the family
