You know, I'm not entirely unserious about putting a hoop house over my entire yard and house. They make them bigger for commercial greenhouses, you know.
And then a sort of hamster-ball-for-humans to use in the fields (although it would need traction tires or some sort of power assist to get up and down hills).
Or possibly a surveilance drone. I could use a surveillance drone during calving season. Especially since the preferred calving location is "as far from the house as possible."
Stupid weather.

Technology is getting cheaper and smaller all the time, I'm sure there will soon be (or stuff you can already adapt) tiny cameras with transmitters that you can attach to ear tags so you can sit down at the computer and check on location of your cattle and what they're doing.
