Well, after the big wind, I have had Internet issues off and on for three days!! So, it was irritating me that I would get on here, get ready to post something, just to find out bang... I'm off line again!!!

So for the second time in three days I call our provider and they had to reboot something!! Ah the wonderful issues of living in the middle of no where!! LOL!
So, I couldn't keep you posted on my hatching status, but.....

Here's what I got!! I only had two that didn't want to come out, they weren't completely shrink wrapped, and I don't know how else to increase the humidity, I used a straw and warm water, but, I kept all the chicks in there, and didn't open the lid, till this morning, I had left the two to work it out for almost 24 hours, they were still alive so I helped them just a little, then they hatched out. But, the little AM B
has an umbilical hernia, and is trying to go over backwards!! I still have it in the brooder and have been doing some reading, they say to just let it take a few days, syringe water to it and see what happens, and put antibacterial ointment on it, and keep it away from everyone. So, I think that's what I'm going to do.

The other thing I did, is I'm trying to figure out if I can tell the difference between the cockerels and the pullets now, so I put blue wire ties on the ones I think are, time will tell! I'll probably have to change them, but, it's an experiment !

So yea, I got 15 out of 16 to hatch, one of mine is dead I think, I'm gonna give it another day, then find out, I don't hear anything. Not sure if the little AM B will make it but we will see!! yea !!!! Oh and I have two turkeys still in the bator to hatch on the 12th!

Thanks for the welcome! :)

My computer was acting up earlier and not typeing all the letters i was pushing! :(

I agree with the the goat/chicken... cant have just one.. we also have 2 goats, getting a few cows this weekend and pigs soon after!

So you have ducks too.. i am thinking of getting some of them as well... :)

I love the picture of the horse!!! :) That is great. I was not happy to see the snow on the ground, but so thankful for this sun! We were able to clean out the coop and start to get ready for the silkies and chicks! :) Maybe ducks too...

Hey no problem!!! And if you like Scovies, I got your duck!! Great pest control and if you ask the chefs, they will tell you none better for the table!! Wow! Cows and pigs!! that's great!! Love the pigs!!! Oh love the cows too of course!! But, they are too spendy for us right now!
We didn't get snow here on the eastside, or at least where I live YET!! but, that doesn't mean we won't, it has been pretty cool today tho!!
Everyone stay warm and dry, gotta go check on the babies!! catcha later!!

Yes, those and many other situations. Just trying to make light of things. I guess it's my sick sense of humor. Helps to try to laugh once in a while. Still think we need to start a club. I don't mind being the only member.

Well you can count me in, I have those days too!! LOL! But, I think there are days when I probably act more like a "jackass" then a donkey!! LOL!!

Lately my greatest joy comes from watching my animal charges. Especially the dogs and chickens. Today I was amused watching Bella, our Welsh Corgi have a one on one with a full grown Blue Wheaten Marans rooster. She lives to get things running just so she can chase them but the roo would not back down. Face to face with his hackles raised he never turned and ran. Funny thing, finally one of his hens just came up and pecked Bella on the nose and she decided she was done with all that nonsense and walked off to do some lounging in the sun. That hen followed her and would not leave her alone! Just kept pecking at her! I guess the hen decided her man needed defending till the end. Hmmm, wonder if we need to learn something from these critters. Just sayin.

See thats what I was thinking that you could add it to your flock to prevent inbreeding and stuff. I have been reading up on AI it for awhile because I am looking into getting a Mini Jersey Cow for a family milk cow but I dont wanna deal with a bull and mini jerseys are far and few between so I would have to order it and have it sent to me... But the lady on the film said it dies within a few mins? Maybe because shes not freezing it?.. I guess thats where I got confused. But it makes since why some chicken breeders would want to do it that way....

They put the goat and I'm sure any other animal on Nitrogen, my girl friend has a tank. It was so funny one year my truck coming back from Nationals with the goats was having a hard time. My girlfriends daughter was with me, so where do you think the take was.

between her legs so nothing would happen to all the little guys.. Now thats not the best place for safety of the girl but the best place for them little frozen guys...

AAARGH!

I don't know what to do, or what to look for! My goat, we don't know but think she was pregnant when we got her, almost 5 months ago, and that's the gestation period. What should I look for? Oh dear. Her udder is beginning to get bigger, and her teats are a bit swollen, her "private bits" are relaxed . . . Himself is putting more straw in her shelter now . . .

2 bunnies due to kindle tonight (one aborted last week, two have already had 8 babies each in the past 2 weeks, and we go into chicken lock-down on Friday. . . tearing out hair and fingernails!)
