On another note - I caught a very wily cockerel today. He's been roaming the property (outside the fence) for about a week now. So, daily I call him and give him treats. Today, silly bird followed me into the cellar - then I had him!

Himself did a similar thing with the goose, caught her in the "food court" -she's going to a new home tomorrow

Sorry you had to rehome Molly, she looked so nice in your bird area! I wonder if you could find geese that coexist peacefully with ducks and you can have sentries and goose eggs again.

Ok... Anyone up for telling me I am right? I asked over in my neck of the woods, but since everyone is out and about enjoying this warm weather, cleaning coops, taking apart winter runs... No one has really confirmed my suspicion on leg mites... I think my roo has a case, or he's developing a serious case of dry leg... here is a pic... Am I right? Leg mites?

I'd say leg mites.

I candled them this morning and they were all alive then. But I have think this is day 18 so I am in lock down and cant keep checking to see if they are still alive.

Yeah, but she really needed to have a mate, and it wasn't fair for me to keep here here without one. One day, when we get a bigger place, I shall have my geese and they will have a place all their own. (Or, perhaps Himself will see the error of his ways this year and give up of ducks, then I can have geese again!)

But I am not 100% what day I am actually on. And its my first time incubating. And It was a forced emergency incubatioin as my silkie decided to quit.

I know almost enough to make me dangerous but my GUESS would be mites.
