if your buying in LFP then yeah that expensive. Monroe, Snohomish and all the rest of the cities and towns are much cheaper and still an hour or less to Seattle. I bought 13 acres here for 280k , the neighbors house is going up for sale, dont know what it will go for but 5 acres with 5 bedroom two story remodeled house, barn and stand alone 12x12 buildings (7 of them) on 5 acres has a tax value of 196k right now. maybe my mom will buy that... but property is NOT that expensive as long as you do not buy pretty much in the city.... I would still stay out of king county. taxes taxes and rules and regs and etc etc...

It's a much longer commute from Monroe or Snohomish than it is from here. We're at roughly 160th NE, so not very far north of Lake City. I don't know what way you'd get downtown from where you are...but we're a little less than a mile from Bothell/Lake City Way or about two miles from I-5. DH complains already about the length of the commute. We often drive to Woodinville for things, so I know how long that trip takes. He wouldn't go for it.

Hey guys I know this isnt chicken related but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a calf hutch or a polydome. My husband and I are seriously considering buying a few goats and I would really like a dome for housing. I just dont wanna have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping. Thanks so much

I use to know someone let me look through my stuff and see if I can find the number. Its in Monroe, what kind of goats I have two nice Nubian Does that need good homes, great with people. I get my uses so I dont have to pay so much for them too. Oh look on Craigs list and see if anyone has them..

It's 14 feet from the door to the back fence, and roughly 20 to 22 feet in length. Then there is a small walk area behind the coop. We set the coop out from the neighbors fence. The neighbors kids have a climbing swing set right next to the fence, so we didn't need the kids walking around the roof of the coop. lol The coop is only about 8' x 4' I manage to keep as many birds as I do because of the run size.

This may have been answered before. But it sounds like you are cutting into the crop. First thing is to remove the feed of the birds that are going to be processed at least 24 hours before you do them in. That way there isn't anything in their crop. From there it is a case of being very careful with following the membranes around the variety of organs. DH and I have offered to let anyone that wants to come and watch us butcher. We haven't even started any meat birds this year. It is going to have to wait a bit longer this year.

Its not the crop, its on the other end. When I cut above the vent to gut it. I try n make sure I only cut the skin and make the whole big enough for just me finger but half the time I get green liquid coming out. I think its bile. I dunno.

That would be great thanks. I found the website but they dont say if they ship or at what cost. I looked on craigslist but I havent seen any. I am gonna keep checking tho. My daughter really wants pygmies. She is thinking of doing 4h with them... I dunno tho cuz I know nothing about 4h or what she would be required to do so another thing I have to look into.

Well, we are still hauling compost in to the garden & spading it in, planted 2 10 foot rows 20" wide in Mesclun yesterday & 30 of snow peas, stakes & net & all..........that was a 6 foot wide by 30 foot long spade compost in/ job.........involving shoveling compost in & spreading, and then spading it in, planting staking & nets.

MY BACK IS SKA-------------------REEEEEEEEEEMING today !!!!!!!!!!

Spring is when you realize how pasty white, (fish belly white) fat & out of shape you are after a long winter~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

oh , and I got a little more sleep llast night !

Would you say its safe to plant beans and peas without cover yet? lol I keep delaying planting because of freezing. But I also dont want to plant to late iether. lol
