So did Annie get dipped? I would assume that food coloring would be safe, as long as it didn't get in her eyes. I just don't think that she would ever be her original color until she mottles again.

My Aunt, in the 60s & 70s would dye her white tea cup poodle a different wonderful color every week, with Kool aide, and the dog always smelled so good....................
I tried it with a white cat I had, and sure enough...the white cat was then purple & I let her out to play...wonder what the neighbors thought when they looked out to see a purple cat walking the fence...............and not to mention the purple cat smelled oh so good like grape kool aide !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got back from Home Depot & now have chick proof fencing up so the little bastardos cannot escape anymore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got the 40" high green plastic fencing & cut it in half long ways & zip tied to the existing 2x4 feild fence...............

Hopefully the Houdini chicks stay with Momma~~~~~~~~~~~~

I almost said that too....poor girl (Cheryl). She is probably 10 months preggo now.

Cheryl has to be at least 10 mo prego by now...wears me out just thinking about it...and every day I waite for the phone call.........................

I am exhausted...............and just had 3 fingers with a water back..............
And now the song from Pink Floyd comes to mind: I have become comfortably numb~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ah yes......and still have more tomatoes to move to the green house tomorrow............and melon starts and squash starts.............but for now, I am numb and have enchiladas in the oven.............

The world is GOOD


And DH has been working on the first of 2 chicken tractors for the 2 shipments of meaties arriving first on May 21st..........I will get pics of Einstein's tracot tomorrow !!!!!!!!!

He is so cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I had a great day. I was able to go and pick up Eenie today. I really enjoyed the day with her. We ended up at the Tropical Fish store in Sumner. I bought some new gravel for the 46 gallon tank, 15 fish. A dozen of Cardinal Tetras are going to go into the 46 g tank. Right now they are hanging out in the 75 gallon tank with the Glass Cats. The other 3 fish are Tin Foil Barbs, and they get to live in the big tank. I think that the 3 TB's that I got from Tomatolady, were very happy to have some kids just like themselves. The Red Tail Shark wasn't very happy with the new kids. But I really don't think that any of the fish will remember that there are 3 new kids in the tank come tomorrow morning.


DH left yesterday for a couple of weeks, so things are back to normal around here. By the end of last week everything was back to very nice. We actually had a date. I love to go and have a dinner in a restaurant, just so that I don't have to eat while being stared at by a pack of dogs.

I was so addicted to my fish tanks......I had fresh water angels for ever...and dove head first into salt water tanks and them for years !!!!!!!!!!
NEVER WATCHED TV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After work I laid in front of my big salt water tanks & watched anemones & fish that would blow you away..then moved to CA and raised Koi........went to Koi shows, was in the clubs & all.....insanity !!! Loved every minute of it.

4 out 8 one died on the way out and one just disappeared. Which is why they are in a cat carrier.

Question for Western WA locals. Considering local weather, when would be good time to introduce chicks to outside? They are only 1 1/2 weeks right now. I'm assuming its still too chilly for them?

Inside their door, is a heat lamp, should they need it, in they go.
Also the same for incubator chicks, started in a brooder & when vaccinated & fledged, I open the door.
They can then go out if they want, and come in when they are cold.
They are smarter than you think !
Except for Polish, I hear they will sit out until completely snowed over.
