Finished product! Chicken & dumpling soup....my throat feels better already!

That looks very good ! ! ! Did I ever mention I am up for adoption ? ? ? And just in case the chicken & dumplins don't work. Try "FISHERMANS FRIEND" throat disks. They have always done very good on sore throats around here.

Well shoot. Since the weather won't cooperate I've been working on regaining some woodworking skills. Today I started on the entry door to the shed. All mortise and tenon jointery. Should finish it up tomorrow. (door is over-engineered for a shed door but rebuilding skills was the deal.) Ramp is complete, chicken door is in place and interior door and screening is in place. Tomorrow will also see the sheet-goods go down on the coop floor and the roosts put in place.
If this dang weather gives me a break I'll get the coop/shed primered in prep for the finish coat.
Still have wayyyy too much todo on this project but I see a light at the end of the tunnel, I just hope it isn't a fast freight coming at me.
Birdblocks are needed, facia boards need to go up and the corner trim. Not to mention the secure run I want to install.
The girls will be in the coop tomorrow night if things go well

Nah, it won't be done, but at least they'll be out and the run should be available and I'LL GET MY GARAGE/SHOP BACK!!
This chicken thingy is kicking this old man's butt, but hey, it keeps me off the street corniers and outta the bars.

He changed his "ByNatureFarm" to "buyN8urefarm" or some such thing..............and he is getting back on.
They are renovating an RV, and selling their goats chickens & rabbits and so saving $ on rents, etc and getting rid of furniture which will be cheaper to buy new rather than store or haul the old....so he is doing right on !
We will all be ready to help them when they get here !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed my name because the national agricultural statistics service sent me a survey that was required by law that I fill out. I don’t know why I got this mandatory survey but I feel it because I had used farm in my username. I am slowly changing everywhere I used ByNatureFarm to ByNatureHomstead but on BYC our usernames cannot be more than 15 characters long so ByN8urhomstead is what I am using here.

Yep still in hot and humid Kansas. Still have plans settling down in northeastern part of the state. Are we heading that way, well not physically yet but mentally 100%.

The best one to talk to about security, is Greg Richardson....I made all my runs by his design, and I have never had 1 bird lost.....and we are surrounded, 15 feet from fence, by thousands of acres of wilderness.

P.S. The double thixk green plastic 1/2" fencing is secured on the inside of the chick pen.....so as ya see the wee babes there, and they can run back inside to the heat lamp if they need to.

I have told many people about how you do you chicken runs. This valuable information need to be more easily accessible. I always have trouble finding your photos when I want show them.

PLEASE keep in mind THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION but I feel it is just one more attempt to keep track of us and what we may be doing. As for "required by law". Well how can they require one to fill it out if one never received said survey. See they just send them in the normal mail so they really don't know who they sent them to or IF SAID PERSON ACTUALLY received the survey.
Bottom line I throw them away and did even when we had the goats and were claiming them on taxes.
