I had 7 sizzle hatch and that one Cream Legbar, so now the wait to see how many are really going to look like sizzle. Now have Ameracuana in lock down that came from back east will see how it goes. I just love blue eggs and yes my dark brown eggs. keeps the morning time happy to have it Easter everyday..

Not sure if I told ya at 7 am I was at a guys house getting white hard plastice for the roof of the coops Im going to try and build. Dont know what the name of the stuff is but its all in great shape and have about 10 that are full length. Not to bad for free on craigs list... Im a happy camper..

Well I feel like a nervous mother. I did say I have a zoo of animals here. bunnies, pigs, calves, turkeys, pigeons, doves, dogs and cats. Of them all mine are 3 turkeys, 5 speckled sussex babies, 3 ss hens 5 barred rock hens incuding momma, 10 ducks, and 2 funny looking white chickens and the 2 dogs, and a male scottish fold cat. The rest are my friends and I take care of them (6 pugs, 6 cats 5 kittens , 2 pigs,, 2 turkeys, 3 calves, 10 bunnies and all the pigeons (not sure how many) and her silkies, polish and black copper marans chickens) Anyways, the one bunny started pulling her fur and making a nest in her box so now i'm a nervous anxious mommy waiting for her to have her babies. LOL!!! She is in her box now and panting like crazy.

Yup it's a new experience for me... But I get a discount on our rent here by taking care of the animals and so far None have died. (at friend/landlord's house) she always had birds dieing on her.

It is definately a zoo here at times. And soon we get our house once the current renters get out of it. We are buying it and the guy that was renting has tore it up. So We will have to fix it up before we move in. but then I will have just my animals to take care of.

Oh yea forgot the 2 button quail in the innside brooder that I managed to hatch from eggs. Friend gave them to me since i got them to hatch. Hubby calls them the crack babies because they are constantly zooming in their cage.

sorry missed the rest of the ford posts. another thing for ford: Fix or Repair Daily. This from a former ford owner. I loved my truck but when I got divorced I kept my car and let him have the ford lol. He constantly has to fix it.

Whatta day. Stayed up late last nite (my bad) finally went to bed in early am but slept in til noon? So today I didn't get much done. Weather looked nice until I went outside and it rained on my parade.
The girls are in their new home. Hooray! The run isn't finished, that's what I get for being lazy. Tomorrow it will get done and they wil be out side for the first time!
Once they're outside I'll prime and paint their house and finish it. This was a lot of fun building the coop (except for the thumb, dumb thingy).

So is nature bedding ok? They are like wood pellets. When its wet it turns to sawdust. I got shavings for the first time a couple of weeks ago and one of my red broiler chicks tried to eat them and got stuck in its throat an died. I think after this bale I will stick to natures bedding and straw. I never had turkeys so thanks for your help.

I have no idea, I use sand.
I guess if they can fit it in their mouths (and they have big mouths!) they can eat it.

Thats the only kind I make lye soap, I just dont use water only milk. If you can find that recipe maybe this summer I can make some up for ya.

It used to be on cans of red devil lye, but you cannot buy lye anymore...so I have had no luck finding the recipe anymore

went to check and the bunny had her babies... OMG they are ugly when only a couple hours old. Best count was 6-8 babies. Hubby wasn't going to mess with them much at all we just looked and did a quick count.

And here is the mother of these babies.... OMG I know these aren't chickens but wow!!!!

and here is momma tonight with her adoptee. I went to take pics and she got up on my lap ( I was sitting down) and the baby jumped up and settled right in. It was super cute. I took a ton of pictures of the birds before the batteries died in my camera and so I put everybody to bed...

Momma and we don't know what the baby is. I call her a lavender something.

Mr Peeps is fine!! He's been gobbling at every thing that makes a noise!! LOL!! He's too busy walking up and down the fence to even notice me! But, every one seems happy and they are all eating ok, as for the Buckeyes!!

I sat in the brooder with them for over an hour talking to them and picking them up, and they seemed to be slowing down a little! I do have some bread to feed so maybe I can get them to relax!! Everyone likes there runs and I let all the smaller turkeys,( except 4312's) out with the big turkeys so they are all getting along just fine! I can see everyone from my back porch, so I am able to keep an eye on them and make sure they get along. Mr peeps is not lonely or sad!! He has his girlies and some things to jump up on, and lots of grass and bugs and food to eat, he's kickn it!!

COOL !!!!!!!!!!!! Is his head turquise & blue ?
If so, he is happy !!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Momma, did you have her on antibiotics ever ?
She still looks really swollen as if she has an active infection, poor baby !
