Well, for me I have a lot of room and a big garden, and it doesn't rain as much here, so we don't really have the smell. There are others on here that are probably experts on it, I myself put it in a pile and add dry material such as leaves and green material like vegetable waste, and make sure I turn it every so often, I am not perfect at it, but it seems to break down well. I also just clean the coop and spread it out on the garden spot too! It breaks down a lot faster that way.So I have read alot of the pasted post I missed... I have seen a bunch of you are posting about composting. I have to say I have never composted before... Thought about it but never got around to it... Can anyone tell me how long it takes straw n chicken poo to break down and what is the smell factor if any? I have had chickens over a year I should probably get on the ball with composting for my garden
