Hi itsren! Welcome back. Did your mom's move go well? My EEs beards are coming in as well, it's adorable!! They're all getting huge and sick of the coop, LOL! But VelvettFog is coming next month to build us a run!! Woohoo!!
Yay! How exciting that you'll have help to build the run. I plan to start building my little run now that the stress of moving my mom is over. She loves her new little apartment and is so happy to be back around the people she grew up with. She grew up on a 40 acre farm in Greenleaf, Idaho and then went to George Fox College (today a University) in Oregon. Many of her Greenleaf neighbors also went to George Fox. She's now living with her childhood neighbors and her college buddies. When we visited the retirement center last time it was fun to hear the residents swap their old time farm stories. She's so happy to be there. I could see the joy in her face and in her eyes. We'll miss her, but she's only a three and a half hour drive away. Moving her has been pretty hard on the kids, but I think they'll adapt.
First on my list of "to do's" before I get started on the run is to get our house put back together after last week's carpet tear out. Everything came off shelves and got bagged up to help prevent too much dust from getting mixed in with things. We got a lot of that done before we left for Oregon, but there's still quite a bit to do. Having the nearly 40-year-old carpet out of here has helped my allergy issues significantly, although I still have to wear a respirator when I'm around the chicks. I'm still holding out that we're not getting rid of the chicks! So I look a little goofy when I'm around them - not too big of a deal.
