AFter yesterday's dog fiasco, today is a good day. 3 eggs in the bator that are making their way to hatch. chicks inside are noisy and working hard to finish getting the shell open so they can get out.

Cows wandered up by my porch and destroyed all my tomatoes, tomatillos, and pepper plants, and ate all the leaves off my thornless blackberry plants. I am ready to butcher the dang cows but they aren't mine and aren't old enough.

Debated starting my plants again but decided since we are moving in few weeks I will do it then at the new house. NO COWS!!!!! just chickens, ducks and maybe turkeys.

hard being patient on letting the hatching chicks do their thing I want to help them but i am making due with just watching them through the incubator lid... lol

I gotta say, it is nice hearing there are so many fellow WA people also with Wheat issues. I don't have any, but the rest of my family does. Sadly we don't do much actual "from scratch" cooking though, even though I personally love it, it's always buying packaged mixes or pre-made GF things these days. Still, gotta say, I am WAAY more addicted to GF Pizza Crust than boring 'ol white Pizza Crust.

What kind of GF pizza crust do you buy? I've yet to find one that I really, really like.

I am using Bob's Red Mill GF pizza mix and it's pretty good. Or maybe it's just been so long since I have had bread of any kind that it tasted better than it actually is. We'll find out. We liked the crust so much that I have another one in the oven today and it's going to be our sandwich bread today!

OK I'm going to jump in here on the diet subject too! A friend convinced me to try the paleo lifestyle for 30 days. For those that aren't familiar with paleo, it is basically dairy, grain, and sugar free. I have been eating meats, fruits, vegetables, and nuts since May 1st, and drinking water, tea, and coffee with no sugar (ugh). No alcohol either. I've also been exercising.

Within the first few days I had a HUGE craving for my homemade cornbread so I made a batch for the kids to eat with their chili, and I had some too. Boy did my GI tract not like it. A week or so later I cooked up the last of the kid's pancake batter and ate it - it was a little bigger than silver-dollar sized. Again, no bueno for me. Just that small amount!

Now, just the thought of eating anything corn or wheat based makes my intestines roll. Also, I have lost two inches around my waist (I'm a little apple shaped) and I feel that it is mostly from my intestines being inflamed. I no longer look pregnant! (Which is what my 5yo was telling all the teachers this year in school!) I was also having some pain issues around my ovaries (that were found to be fine and healthy) (sorry, guys) which was diagnosed as IBS, and that pain is now gone. I am far from obese, but I could lose about 15-20 pounds, mostly in my abdomen area. I've been working at getting it off for the last couple of years but it's very difficult - and now I know why!

When I am done with this paleo thing, I plan in introducing other grains one at a time to see how my body reacts. Rice, quinoa, oats. And cheese. Boy do I miss cheese and greek yogurt.

Anyway, just food for thought. (haha)

Whoah! Those look cool but I don't think we'll need roll-outs. Thanks for the link! I just need something with a weatherproof roof I can lift up and pull out eggs a couple times a day.

Teva - we eat Paleo. Started December 1st and only recently have we started in on some grains again. Doesn't make for perfectly happy tummies, but OH MAN did our taste buds thank us! We're still 95% paleo and LOVE it! So easy to shop too...just the perimeter of the store

OMGosh, we may have a lead on where my sister is. A guy called my grandma a few minutes ago, said he was at the Lynnwood Fredmyer and saw the poster. He told her that Rachel might be sleeping on his buddies couch. Yeah!!!! It is a bit concerning though cause if this guy is old enough that he is shoping at fredmyers then his buddy is older too and why would he have a 14yr old girl sleeping on his couch? Any ways, I hope it is her. He said he would finnish up shoping and head to his friends house to make sure if it is her or not.

Please let it be her, please let it be her!
