Do not buy birds from Weeks. He's a 'chicken trader' and often times his birds are not healthy. I am speaking from experience.

I'm in Yakima, and have 7 BLRW hens - I'd move those, especially for New Hampshires.
:O

Mine were 2 little chicks last year. They have never appeared to be sick, luckily!. He told me he buys from hatcheries. How do you know hes a chicken trader?
I told 2 people about him recently asking for chickens!

Check this out! Right in my area> I was in Toledo tonight and saw 12 cops at one place. That's more than this county has ! I guess maybe I should pull the truck keys tonight.

This guy tried to check in at the mission on Spencer. He was seen fleeing on Jackson Hwy. Keep your eyes out, locals, and be praying. I guess here went to school here in Toledo. His name is Charles Longshore, he's 6'3", has long red hair he keeps in a pony tail, big cursive "Pride" tattoo on his neck. Please pass this along!

Hello!
I just found this thread. I am new to BYC!

We are located in Belfair, Wa on the Peninisula. We raise meat chickens and also have some layers (but they are still babies) only 4 weeks old.
Anyone close to me!?

I've seen him post adds on Yakima's craig list saying he's passing through and buying birds. His route as been at times, from the Tri-Cities to Cle Elum. I went to his place when I just started getting into chickens. I was soo excited because he had lots of birds that where the age I was looking for. I was such a noob that I did not know what to look for. I told them what I wanted (4 Black Austorlorps and 4 Red-Sex Links) they grabbed them and put them in a box, took my money and I was off.

5 of them died a few days later. Thankfully I had done a fair job of quarantining, so I did not loose others. I had also picked up 4 or 6 chicks at the same time for a friend (well used to be friend) all of those birds died as well. They had that sneezey, cheesey eye, horrendous smelling respiratory thing.

About a month after, his Craiglist adds said something about "guarantee they live for a week, Nobody else does that!" -- I took that to mean he knew his birds were sick and were still selling them.

I think he does get a lot of birds from hatcheries, but he does not pay attention to them. From that day forward I vowed to only get birds from hatcheries - or from other folks like me who love their birds.

So, if you ever come out this way, let me know and I'll show them to you. I wouldn't introduce one to an established flock though - so perhaps you could pick another to go with her. Not sure of what I have, but I do know I have a nice olive egger - they are all about 8-11 weeks old.
You're in Olympia? Yeah, I'd probably need to put two in there together. I have an olive egger, but she's only laid about 10 eggs total in her life since she's ALWAYS going broody! Hasn't been able to hatch anything because she's pretty fickle and leaves the eggs for a golf ball somewhere and she's a MEAN broody. I'm about ready to give up on her and let someone else deal with her.

I'd probably need to swap birds to make room for them. In that coop I have Silkies, bantam Cochins, Seramas, a BR, and a constantly broody olive egger. Any interest in those?
