Never had that happen. What is too long?remember to not over boil the eggs otherwise they start popping and just aren't any good at all
:ODo not buy birds from Weeks. He's a 'chicken trader' and often times his birds are not healthy. I am speaking from experience.
I'm in Yakima, and have 7 BLRW hens - I'd move those, especially for New Hampshires.
I started to boil the eggs. Then went into the frontroom and got lost in my school work until I heard popping in the kitchen. I had boiled all the water out of the pan and the egg shells were popping. Dang it. I was going to make pickled eggs with them too.Never had that happen. What is too long?
Hello!
I just found this thread. I am new to BYC!
We are located in Belfair, Wa on the Peninisula. We raise meat chickens and also have some layers (but they are still babies) only 4 weeks old.
Anyone close to me!?
:O
Mine were 2 little chicks last year. They have never appeared to be sick, luckily!. He told me he buys from hatcheries. How do you know hes a chicken trader?
I told 2 people about him recently asking for chickens!

You're in Olympia? Yeah, I'd probably need to put two in there together. I have an olive egger, but she's only laid about 10 eggs total in her life since she's ALWAYS going broody! Hasn't been able to hatch anything because she's pretty fickle and leaves the eggs for a golf ball somewhere and she's a MEAN broody. I'm about ready to give up on her and let someone else deal with her.So, if you ever come out this way, let me know and I'll show them to you. I wouldn't introduce one to an established flock though - so perhaps you could pick another to go with her. Not sure of what I have, but I do know I have a nice olive egger - they are all about 8-11 weeks old.
