Ok not sure if anyone can answer this for me, but I can hope. Turkeys, I have a pair of Narragansett (I think) and I have not seen the tom "get to" the hen. But a guy that came and bought my rooster, hunts turkeys and said that mine boy is still a Jake, noting the very small almost not there beard. Also that they do not sexually mature until 3 yrs and a long beard. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I really don't want to keep this very sweet, nice, loving boy *sarcasm* for two or so more years.
You should be able to do it but you will need to keep him separate from the flock for a month (?) If you have kids get a breed that is known to have good temperament. (silkie, Brahama, Orpingtons).
Thought it would be fun to share some pictures I took today of the girls. They simply LOVE my yard and I'm so happy to give them the run of the place! DH isn't quite there yet as he despises the chicken poop on the porch, but I hose it off every evening after they roost.
Took my dozen of 12 week old girls and added them into the run tonight from their apartment in the garage. Was thinking that introducing them to the older girls at night would be best.
Am I just worried for no reason ?
Thanks. Bumble tolerates a lot.Bumble looks so cute! Love the pouch.
