I posted this already, but I wanted to share where I'm from. The West is the best, am I right?

The Rogue River Rooster Crow is held the last weekend in June, in RR, Oregon. Local folks bring their most vocal rooster to town to compete in a crow-off. They also have a crow-off for humans, by the beer garden. RR also has it's own gaming, the Chicken *&#% Contest. Picture a large table with numbered squares, locals placing bets on their numbers, and then anticipating nature's call. There is also my sister selling tie-dyes at a booth and a parade. Fun to be had for all. If you are near, or passing through on I-5, stop in. When you see a giant R on the side a mountain, you're there.

My sister's friend has won the last two years.

I was shocked at my 10 year by how many guys were going bald. It may be fun to go to my 30 year just to flaunt my full head of thick hair.
Hey now ! ! ! He only made a few perfect heads (like mine) and he hid the rest under a bunch of hair !

Hey guys I am just stopping in to say HI!... My kids have been very sick, So I have not had time to stop in.. Almost 3 weeks ago I got a phone call from school that my 5 year old had a 103.8 fever and couldn't breath we rushed him into the hospital and after hrs of testing he was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia, strep and a double ear infection and each ear . He has been on 3 rounds of a triple dose of meds and FINALLY he is starting to get somewhat better but he still has massive amounts of fluid built up behind his ear n they arnt sure why. The day before he was fine and then it all went down hill. *sighs* Then we found out Monday that my 8 year old has some sort of respiratory infection her eyes were so infected she couldn't see it wasn't pink eye but they don't know what its from she now has a ear infections because of the infection draining into her ears they think its an allergy or an allergic reaction to something?? ... And then my poor 3 year old just has a runny nose n a cold. On top of that my husband has been gone for a few weeks for military training.... SO I have been one busy mama to say the least. But enough about that. My chickens are doing good. My broody girl is still broody, I put eggs under her but unfortunately none were fertile

so she is sitting on nothin... Everyone else seems to be doing well. I do still have a BLRW Roo that was hatched in March if anyone wants him just let me know. Sorry if I missed anything important. I hope to be able to catch up with yall soon

It is so difficult to see your kids sick and not be able to instantly fix it. Hang in there!

I have 9 broody hens now, and it is really cutting into egg production. Mine are all sitting for nothing as I don't want any more chickens. I feel guilty every time I go in the coop and take out the eggs from underneath them. I can only guess why, but my hens prefer laying in nest boxes with broodies in them; more chance of passing on their genes I guess.

Hey all, just passing through today. Princess is still really sick, lethargic, not eating, huddling in the cage. I started her on the Sulmet I have because I suspect Cocci and instead of wait a week for the Corid to arrive (which I already paid for online!) I am going to go pick some up at that new feed store in Auburn today. Bummer. I simply won't ever sleep again if Princess dies and I didn't do everything possible to help her. She is pecking a tiny bit at her food this morning so maybe that's a good sign. She ate about a 1/4 of an egg last night too.

Does anyone have a pdf file for a chicken saddle pattern? I suck at technology, and am not even going to try to manipulate the 8x8 pattern that is going around this site.

Do an internet search. I found one about a year ago from a UK website, I can't remember which. I was pleased with the saddle, but I don't like the straps. My girls all pull it off, so they are running around with naked backs. My next rooster will be lighter than my orpington. Poor hens. They may get sunburned today! I made the saddle from a waterproof fabric with a polar fleece lining. My girls free-range all day rain or shine and I did not want them having something wet stuck on them.

That looks like fun! My friend is in G.P. now visiting her mom, but her chickens are here at my house.

I went to UC Davis and they would grid off the quad and put a cow out there for Bovine Bingo!
