I need to do a bit of research and find a wasp/hornet killer that is non-toxic to other animals. Those critters like to make their nests in my chicken yard and I want to evict them.
There are people who will come remove them!!!!! They use them to make ANTI venom. Speaking of has any body here ever been prescribed an EPI pen??? Well I was last week. When I went to the pharmacy guess what. They give those things away. Yup $240.00 . At that rate I will just need to say a few special words before working with the girls because there is just no way I can buy the pen!!!!

for an epi pen?! Are you looking into it because you've been stung so many times? Are you becoming allergic?

Tamara - The drive to your place was simply gorgeous and I wish I needed an excuse to come there and get some birds! LOL Fantastic pics of your gardens, what an amazing place you have! Sorry about dress shopping with your daughter; I put my poor mother through hell trying to find the perfect dresses for those things...I totally remember it.

Thanks Jessica! I was a total utter tomboy, and wanted nothing to do with dresses....ever!!! So this is a bit new to me! LOL!!!!

That would be our reason to go there. My husband keeps looking at my hens... and thinking about dinner. I need to keep his stomach full and my hens safe.

But then who knows how the birds at the auction were treated/fed/cared for?

edited to add:
Any one have some unwanted birds in the Eatonville area?

I have three roosters that need to be gone. You are welcome to them. I'm in Puyallup though, not sure how far that is.

Just a reminder for those who might have missed my earlier reminder.

If you live in Snohomish County, and are interested in getting your kids involved with 4-H, there is a 4-H Open House this Thursday night at 7:00pm in the Beef Pavillion at the Evergreen Fairgrounds in Monroe. There will be representatives from all the area clubs and projects there, so you can ask questions, find out when/where meetings are, ask about club requirements, project requirements, etc. Our whole family will be there. We will be split between the Poultry Project table and the Esprit de Corps 4-H Club table. Hope to see some of you there!!!!

If you live in another county, this is the time of year that 4-H is trying to "recruit" new members, so you can call your extension office and see if there is a similar event in your area. The 4-H year typically starts in October, and finishes with the fairs in August/September. So now is the time to try and find a group to work with so you can get the most out of this next 4-H year!!!

That's extremely scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POOR RATS!! Good grief, I know I'm gonna have to go back to eating gluten-free due to health issues but now corn, and probably soy, free? I know there's a couple people on here that have very restricted diets and I ask you how do you do it? Just GF was hard to get on board with. I always felt kinda outcast when going out to eat with friends. How do you do it without spending a fortune???

Just comes as natural as swinging into mcdonalds for most people I suppose.

I dont feel like I spend a fortune ether

After a long day at work I came home to find my Silkie roo (in my avatar) dead. I am not happy to say the least. What a craptastic way to end the day! :hit

So sorry for your day ending like that, sorry for your loss to Jess
