Seattle schools can loan a limited number of instruments to kids that can't afford them, perhaps they have a loaner your kid could borrow one until yours is ready?

My Pudge is a big girl now! She laid her first egg today, right on schedule. I think I'll give her extra treats today for being such a good girl.

You contact the owner/manager and try to start nicely but firm. With the idea of that your child needs an instrument by Tuesday. You brought your instruments to them and in in good faith were assured that said repairs would be done in time. Then explain how they notified you the repairs were complete. Then explain how the store was busy when you picked up so you took your instrument in good faith and on the word of his employee. Then tell what you found once home. And that since the repairs were not done and you were charged extra you would him to supply your child with a rental/loaner FREE OF CHARGE while his company properly completes the repairs that you have already paid for!

Thank you!!!!

See, you do help others here. You have no idea how this bit of advice helps. I went into panic mode, managed to work myself into another headache. The thought didn't even occur to me that I could ask for a loaner. After reading that, I feel a lot more relaxed about it. Thanks CR!

All the scheduling with the kids, the homework, the supplies they need, etc. can get overwhelming, esp. with 3 kids. I try very hard to have things done on time, and when the school needs/wants them. It is very frustrating to come up short, even though I try so hard. My son is so excited to learn how to play the clarinet, and we're very grateful the school teaches it for free, so I don't want to mess up and him miss out on the opportunity. The instructions were very clear that he had to have his instrument on Tuesday. Now I know how to go about it, and what to request on Monday.

Quote: LOL Actually, we may have a solution for this...elizmartin needs a cockerel from me, and I need my quackers, so we are working out a Friday that she can swing by and get my ducks, and we can meet in Oly somewhere...I'm sensing a lunch time meet up perhaps, if anyone is interested in a Friday lunch thing....it won't be this coming week, but maybe one of the following 2....
Well silly bajilly That was what I were gonna do next thurs so you could pick up friday.
I know, but I need to get this cockerel to her too...

Quote: I always get one basket, plus the veggie pack, plus whatever add-ons we like; this week we got 8lbs of strawberries plus the "LunchBox" box of fruit, plus the original basket. It's seriously *just enough* to get us through the week after we bought some more produce for making some specific meals. I wish we were getting brussels sprouts right now! Making hash for dinner tonight :)
Quote: Well I have a bit of a twisted out look on many things and this may be one. I look at it like this. Expired but still able to give even a little help for what ever condition is better than nothing at all !!!! Now I know there others who will totally disagree. That is to be expected. That is not saying either is right or wrong!!!
We take expired meds all the time and they work, it's no big deal. I'd take those epi pens in a heartbeat if I were you, how nice of them to offer!

Just caught up with some 85 posts! Wonderfully long morning at church this morning! Got home for lunch around 1:30, William down for a nap at 2, I went to the library ALONE to return last week's school books and get this week's school book. Now Isaac and John are cleaning out the garage, Jeanine is playing angry birds, and William is still sleeping. I need to clean the kitchen but don't want to. Ugh. Gotta get that done before dinner so we have clean plates though! Bye all.
