OMG!! I'm sorry but your description had me rolling!!
Ya know I have 4 outside cats, all spay and neutered of course, and they are the best hunters I've ever had!! And they were raised with the chicks so they don't bother them.
I don't have rats, mice, moles, birds, gophers, um.... let me see what else, oh yea, or rabbits!!! The first time I saw my male with a full grown rabbit I thought I was going to croak!! I was so freaked out, I grabbed it and threw it away!! dang! you'd think I didn't feed them or something?? They get fed twice a day on top of what they go out and kill!! That was a little over the top for me tho!
I know , terrier can be such brats!! I've had a few, and a jack and some crosses, they don't always do well around chickens tho, cause of their instincts, it depends on the dog, and of course how well the owner trains or shall I say NOT trains the dog!!
He was fixed before we got him, but we discovered that he was fixed way too late. He marks everything. Plus, he does have that terrier attitude. He ignores our chickens and has even been pursued on occasion! George will see him wandering around and she'll charge up behind him. He turns to look at her and she stops dead. He resumes his course and she goes after him again. He turns and she stares at him. It's very amusing to watch.
Yea, I was worried about my pup, I usually get them neutered before they start marking because of that, and I was watching Taco a few day ago and.....yea, I saw him lift his leg and I told my husband, that's it, he's going, cause usually if you get them before, they won't but if you get them after they usually continue!!
I was talking to my vet about it when I picked him up tonight, she said, ya know usually a dog is some what sore after a neuter, she said, not yours! I said why, she said, cause he went out to go potty and he lifted his leg ABOVE his head!!! LOL!!!!
She said she asked if it hurt, LOL!!!
