Ugh! It always irritates me when the news people say things like that. They'll say "it's gonna be a gorgeous day" with 100 degree weather, or 30mph+ winds just because the sun is shining in a cloudless sky.I was reading the weather report on line. Some idiot called three months of drought a "grace period". I doubt the people dealing with the wildfires agree. I sure don't, and I'm just dealing with my dry garden
Hey all! Renee just called me from the road to let me know one of her eggs pipped!!!!!! She says thanks for all the support, she'll be getting updates from her DH this weekend and will keep me informed. Don't text her though....she asked not to![]()

I'm just loving it because it's slowly washing all the chicken crap away! Our backyard was atrocious from a dozen chickens crapping all over it all summer long with no rain. I hosed off what I could, but it was still simply awful and disgusting. The flies were bad too. I'm really hoping this short rain will get rid of the mess!!![]()

Came back to check on thread just for the purpose of finding someone who is happy about the rain!! Thank you!!I'm loving the rain! I could just hear the woods heave a big sigh of pleasure. Everything feels so much fresher and cleaner. I'm ready for a nice, damp fall to set in!

I'm so glad for rain. That means the grass will green up and grow a little so the chickens can have some fresh greans. They had even taken to eating the oldest plaintain leaves just to eat something green.
And YES, so much chicken poop washed away.
I didn't even mind going out to fix the tarp over the silkie pen in the rain this afternoon, or the fact that I dumped water on myself a few times. It was a nice warm 58 and the water wasn't bad. I just had the tarp tied to far up and it allowed water to pool. I pulled it tight and retied and no issues. It's snug and dry under there. Now I need to make them their new house to go with the new pen.

I am so excited for our creek to come back too! I know it will still be a while, probably at least a month, but I love listening to it.
