We have a hanging feeder for a flock of mostly 2 1/2 yo EEers. No matter what height it is - someone somehow scatters feed all over the ground. The feeder is from ag store, normal round, galvanized one with tray. What set-up works best to keep from wasting feed? I'm going broke!

How high is the feeding ring. it should be about at the top of their backs. I hang mine with a rope (the feeder not the chickens LOL) They spill some but there is always some that prefere to eat off the floor so not much gets wasted. In the summer they get scratch right on the ground and none at all gets wasted.
