Watched Threads

Try selecting the ones you want to stop watching, then scroll to the bottom and try this:

Disclaimer: I have not tried this, so I don't know if it will stop watching all threads or just the ones selected.

I tried this one and it removes just the selected ones.

That does work, but you have to select each box by every thread, then tell it to unwatch. There are 50 on each page, so I'm lazy and don't want to have to click each box - so was wondering if a "select all" could be added for the pages

I’m afraid I don’t see another way other than stopping watching them all or just the selected ones.

I just tested Yorkshire Coop's method and it will unwatch *all* threads.

Thanks for confirming this I didn’t fancy having to go back and look for everything I watch so didn’t actually click to un watch them all

I would think that if you left that page and came back that it would have unselected everything. So, if you accidentally hit select all, just go somewhere else, come back and it's undone.

It would depend on how it was programmed.

Anytime I post to a thread it goes to "watched" or sometimes I "watch" it myself. I like to periodically go through and "unwatch" or manage those threads.

Can a "select all" be added so we don't have to click on each individual thread to select it for unwatching? There are 50 per page and that's a lot of clicking

Great info everybody. I suppose I may have not been clear enough with my opening post.

I really wanted to know if "select all" is a feature that can be added to the watched thread management page.

For example - if you have Gmail - when you go to your inbox and have several pages of mail - you can "select all" at the top. This puts a check mark in each little box beside each message on that page- then if you want to, you can uncheck the box on messages you want to save. All the ones that are left with a checkmark you can trash or whatever - selecting makes it easy to mass move similar content to folders as well.

With the way the watched threads are now - if you want to eliminate them you have to check each box. So say, I want to get rid of page 10 - nothing there I want to "keep" I have to check every single one and say "unwatch". But on page 12, I have 3 I want to continue with - I have to still check all 47 I don't want, when you could just uncheck the 3 you wanted.
