Water bottles

Can chickens drink from water bottles, like ones you would give to rabbits? Or do they need an open source of water?

They can drink from water bottles. It is a little messy though. I put a water bottle in with 4 week old chicks today and it took them about 6 seconds to figure it out !

However, the water in the bottle stays much cleaner than a bowl of water on the floor of the pen.

I have a chicken tractor taht moves daily, So really the spillage is not the problem. I Just hate changing the water a mollion times a day.

I know what you mean about the dirty water ! I thought only ducks like to play in their water. Ha Ha !
