I think a filter is probably not going to work well. Your going to need a massive expensive filter or its going to clog in a day.

First of all, I have an electrical engineering background so I'm not completely clueless. Second, I am working with a manufacturer who makes submersible pumps, sediment pumps, vertical turbines, and motors. If anyone can meet my needs and make it reliable, it is them. Also, it HAS to be cost effective or there is no business model here. A de-icer costs $40-$60 MSRP. I'm thinking this waterer must come in around $50-$60 MSRP. If I can't make it work with this design, they might have a suggestion that would work.But I'm not quitting because YOU don't think it will work. No offense.
