Water for Free Range pullets??

My 5 girls forage on an acre for 2 hours a day, weather permitting. I keep water in raised coop, under coop and in pen during summer. They come back to pen when they want water 20170614_164730.jpg or drink from a puddle during or after a shower. GC

I use as shown below. Keeping them in shade gives an additional season or two of use before they have to be replaced. It also helps control algae growth when refilling frequency not high enough to control algae blooms.

They are handy. Gotta make sure they are perfectly level if not suspended. If suspended as we do, keep a brick or 2 to keep it from swinging. That also drains them quickly. Not suspended, when the water level is low it can dump over if a bird tries to perch on it as a perched bird will poop while on it. Contamination of water is higher risk not suspended. We have several versions of these and love them. Got to have plenty here in North Florida where the heat index can get over 100° in the summer.

Good product! :thumbsup
