Water Wigglers?

Ok, what the heck are water wigglers and why do you use them in your incubators? What are they for?

They are to help tell what the inside temps are in a egg

Really? How do they do that? I played with rocks as a kid, this is new to me LOL

Ive never done it personally but from what I understand you take a long thermom rod and insert it in the middle

BTW, what SHOULD the inside temp of the egg be?

Most people who use them get a Brinsea SpotCheck thermometer that has a long probe on it. You insert the probe into the wiggler and set the wiggler at the same height as your eggs. This will give you the approximate temperature of the inside of the egg. Its like an artificial egg. They can be hard to find. I found about ten of them at a place called the Dollar Tree but others have found them at Walmart in the cheap pool toys section. Good luck.

P.S. The inside temp of the egg should be around 99.5 but it can vary I think depending on whether or not your using a still air incubator or one with a fan.
