Yes just pump the water right out the top of the bucket. Thanks so you just pump the heated water out of the top of the bucket then.
If you were going to design a "system" for 56 birds and 4" pvc pipe for nipples thats 40' long. What do you think would work?
I'm not an expert at this but here goes.
Lets assume you already have the pipe and nipples setup.
You'll need to find a place to mount your bucket. You'd want it out of the way but easy enough to fill. The higher it is above your nipple pipe the bigger pump you have to buy to move the water.
So if your nipple piping is 18" off the ground and you put the bucket up on a shelf at 5' you need a pump that will pump the 42" difference and you really want a pump that's capable of more than that. Flow charts are available online where the pumps are sold. Your Gallons Per Hour will go down when the height goes up.
Then I'd just find the adapters needed to attach a supply line from the pump you choose to your current piping. And then on the other end connect a return line. I would reduce it down from 4" or you're going to need a big pump to move the volume.
Hope it makes sense.
Right now in my coop I have a 2" PVC with nipples gravity fed from a regular 5 gallon bucket. When winter comes the regular bucket will be replaced with the heated bucket and a return pipe added. I put a threaded end cap on my nipple pipe.
