Shellie what a wonderful cabinet.... Hope you have wonderful luck with it on hatching.

Bonkers have you not learned to not wear your jewlery around geese??? I made the mistake of doing just that with my diamond wedding ring first thing they did was grab ahold of the big diamond and try and take it off.

Thanks Barb, he did a wonderful job on it. It has ran for a week and is all steady and stable. We will pick it up this week and get it running here at home. Just in time too as we received our new sebbie breeding pair (buff curly gander & blue goose), and we have another adult set of geese shipping in soon.

Thanks Marty, brooding isnt an issue since we have a building for that. Most of the goslings ship at the first of the week though after hatching on a weekend which is best for them.

Luckily I got to it before curious beaks did. Lesson learned Ruru!!

Celtic, that is one professional looking cabinet. (Is that an incubator?)

My buff orpingtons. Great layers. The weekly average so far is 6,6 eggs. They are beating my australorp chickens.

Quote: It can be an incubator or hatcher. I am so excited to meet him on Wednesday and pick it up. the drawers will hold 24-30 goose eggs each! So so need that space we are about to max out and need to hatch ducks yet this spring lol plus the rare breed chickens we added.

Quote: Paula you and Jerry want a couple? Happy to ship them to you lol (such an enabler)

Congrats on getting the new geese, Shellie!! I cannot wait for pics!
GB did you find your ear ring?

We ordered a new cabinet since we maxed out the three we have now. Here is the newest addition to our hatching machines.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous!
I don't like brooding much, so I don't want a bigger hatcher. I'm very happy for you and your hatcher though. Hope it serves you well Celtic!

Sad news.....

About 30 minutes ago I awoke to the sound of chickens, ducks, and guineas screaming their heads off (literally...)..so I go running outside, barefooted, in the dark, with a flashlight...when I get out there I do not see anything amiss...until I looked into the juvenile guinea pen..there is a headless guinea flopping around on the ground. Rusty, our dog, started following a trail and went straight to one of our Sea containers, where there was a hole going underneath, and started barking his head off. What ever it is, must been under there. Tomorrow night we'll set the trap in the yard, using the poor guinea as bait. I'm so sick of predators I could scream..

Quote: yep, I wont be keeping the blues (we have her cause she throws buff lol) they may come out of their holding stall today so will try and take some pictures.

Aspen ............ pictures coming soon. So sorry you had another predator attack. I would be setting that trap nightly for awhile if I were you

Yes, we're going to bait the trap with the guinea that got killed. Poor thing.

Question....what ever it was went underneath one of our huge sea containers....would a coon go under ground like that? That sounds more like a cat or something to me. Your thoughts?
