Waterloo, IL Breeder Assocation Swap Meet

Just found this thread, and am interested in going.

Is the Waterloo swap always the last Sunday of the month? If so what is the best time to go?

I'm a real newbie to the poultry worls and would love to see and learn more.

I appreciate any info on this swap!

I believe buyer gate opens at 5:00. Buddies went last Sunday and said there were more people than they ever seen. It was backed up out past the turn onto the fairground road. It is always last Sunday of the month except for the month of the fair ( can't remember what month but think July). Go early to beat waiting in the line to get in!!

I went this past sunday and I have neer seen such a big crowd for a chickn swap. I got there the night before and camped at the gate to get in early. The gates opened at 5;30 AM and people were lined up for half a mile waitng to get in. At 8 AM they were still lined up to get in for a long distance down the road. I got a good deal on 2 female bourben red turkeys. They had a huge amount of birds and animals for sale. But as the others said, they were going back home by 10 AM. You need to get there really early to get the good deals. Norman
