Kinda like door locks-- they help keep honest folk honest.
But where ther is a will there is a way. I know too much about computers and photo editing - if I don't want someone else to have it I keep it off the computer and if I really don't want it shared then it the hard copy does not leave my house. I can do a lot with my scanner too.

Hmm.. I started to type and try to explain my uhh.. "process" of making a watermark (super easy, by the way) but I felt like I was making it too hard!

So anyways I found a tutorial instead.. (not mine!) It is a little different from how I do it, but very helpful!

If you don't like this method, you can always just put some text on the photo, and click on the Text Layer and change the Opacity to about 12% (or whatever works for you!) and it will be transparent over the photo.

If you need more help, PM me and I will try to explain!

They pretend the birds pictured are their birds, especially bad for auctions (Think eBay!) and for-sale ads. They also can sell them to places (Shutterstock and Stockphoto), where big businesses purchase them. They also can use them various places around the internet like here, pretending that they took the picture.
