I'm glad that your friend is helping you. I hope if they have chickens of their own, they are taking bio-security measures so they don't spread whatever your cockerel has to their own flock.
Even if housed separately - respiratory illnesses can be easily spread on clothes/shoes, by shared equipment, dust/dander, etc.
I'm sorry you are facing this. Sadly, many people do experience dealing with disease in their flocks. Sometimes culling a sick bird is needed in order to help slow the spread of disease to other chickens in the flock.
Hi guys this little buddy is pulling through I'm so so happy for him!!!! His still recovering im still not sure on what happend to him... his eye is still a little swollen but I think it will take a little time the infection is clearing up well n his eyes isnt as foamy x
! Sinuses still swollen but i believe hes getting better! It was/is probably a respiratory disease. One of coryza's symptoms is stinky nasal discharge (sorry, i don't remember if your boy had this as i was posting at two threads about respiratory disease).Do he eat and drink normally? How do he act? Wish ur roo and you good luck and health
I already have the cockerel she gave back so cant be putting the 2 together in my coop
