Welcome :welcome Glad you decided to join, sounds like you are well prepared :thumbsup The size of your run is large (room for more ? :p). Good luck with your new flock-you’ll love them. I also like to have a little variety and maybe get different colors or at least 2 different colors :)

Glad you joined!!! Sorry I don't know of breeders in your area. But as far as I know here in the US, hatcheries and breeders usually only sell straight run silkies. They're difficult to vent sex so it seems only a mix of boys and girls are available. Maybe it's different there? But you might want to be prepared for ending up with a couple cockerels (just something to think about). Best wishes starting your chicken adventure!!
 
Welcome to Backyard Chickens. I suggest you check out the "Silkie thread," for information on the breed and also breeders. Showgirls are another variety of silkies and I think children would get a special pleasure from their rather "exotic" appearance.
