One is hatched!
10 eggs hatched, 1 chick died, 20 eggs to go!
Today is hatch day for us. We have 29 Black Copper Maran eggs in a crappy farm innovator incubator. I'm a nervous wreck! I have only hatched guinea fowl before. Of course the settings on the bator are completely useless so I have other thermometers in there. My humidity has been inconsistent through the entire incubation period. Tonight at 10pm will be 21 days. I saw 7 different eggs rocking two days ago. Yesterday I only saw a couple. Today I have seen 2 move but no pips yet. I really hope I get some of these little guys!

How many now?
That's what I read about them, they are sooo unstabled, you best bet is to make an incubator, it's easy and a lot more dependable..It has a fan. I used it for guinea fowl and it did ok but it's a lot of fuss the entire time. Constantly keeping an eye on the humidity which is constantly dropping and rising. I believe I'm at 99.5 and 65 humidity currently. That's IF the acurite thermometer is correct. It's the one I used to hatch the guinea fowl and it's the one I trust the most. I bought a new one from incubator warehouse when I set these eggs. It read 2 degrees lower than the acurite. Every other thermometer I own reads higher than the acurite. So I gave them a low review and they sent me another one that still reads 1 degree lower than the acurite. I do have one broody hen and if the temperatures hadn't been almost zero around here for the last month I would have put a couple of these under her just to see if she'd go the distance but the weather has been brutal.
