aww thanks!
i mentioned this forum and how it helps people be more self sufficient but it didn't make it in the story for some reason.

as i write this, his little darlings are outside jeering at our kids about how they lost their pets

i hope we find a house soon.

I left a comment for you darlin.
Hope it helps.

Sounds like they are going to fine her on hearsay.
And the fact she had verbal confirmation would be just as hearsay Also.

Now to have issues about her birds Is ridiculous as well. Both animal groups are Domesticated animals. you do not find them in the wild and as such need care and shelter provided for them. The wording in the ordinance is not against her. So I'm surprised a law or court action would pursue.

I would also like to add that the desire for having a few chickens in your yard is growing. It was not all that long ago it was common practice. Only in the last 50 years has the public decided it was not allowed. Yet that thought seems to be changing.

People are far removed from where their food source comes from. That scares me! I do hope people try to learn about things and educate themselves. instead of walking around blindly to their environment.

I am so sorry that you have such hideous ignorant nasty neighbors. (When you find a house, check out the neighbors before putting in an offer -- I learned the hard way, as many of us have!)

I left a comment -- looks like that article is going to be inundated with outraged chicken fans.

My Best of Luck to You and keep doing what you're doing -- it's the right thing.

I conmented on it too!, best of luck!!!.... if i didn't have my own war going one....1 dead chicken, and some one let my horses out 2 nights in a row, one night driving them down towards the hwy... if i wasn't going through this i was be hooking up to my stocktrailer and on my down to help out!!

I also don't understand how chickens represent a violation - way under 25 lbs.

From reading the article, it sounds as if this is being presented as almost a political argument - I read it that "being green" is somehow a catalyst for conflict? Or the fact that you complained about your neighbors' dog is an issue?

I left a comment. Basically what I said was that your neighbor is a jerk and karma will come back to him. When food is growing ever more expensive, and those who don't get back to their "greener" roots have no means to eat what they can't buy, this guy will be eating his own big dog. These ordinances are stupid.

Makes me proud to live in Benton, Arkansas where roosters free range on the courthouse lawn.

ETA: A nice fat strichnine laced steak in the middle of your yard....

I left a comment, and I'm GLAD YOU'RE MOVING! I'd hate to live next to such a jerk, especially one that has his hands in the city council's pants.

Love your kids! And your daughter's dress, too... Good job, Mom!
