Great job! I have a coop that is similar to your's, set-up wise. Mine was actually the workshop portion of our garage with a lean-to constructed outside for the run. Size is very comparable. It will certainly do a great job for you and your chickens! We love ours.
What are you doing with the rest of the trailer? You should make the whole thing a coop! LOL! I really did think about getting a used trailer to convert to a coop, but the township that I live in has some sort of strange anti-trailer ordinance. I can have cows, horses, chickens, etc.. but no trailer? Oh well, Great job!!!!!!!!

Well, that's good information, and definitely food for thought, but what I really wanted to know is: How many square feet is the coop itself? And how many square feet are devoted to the covered run? I especially like the size of your covered run, as I'm about to construct something similar for my boys.

Again, y'all did a great job. Your birds are really going to love you come winter and the ground is covered with snow. They'll have all of that marvelous sand to scratch around in!

The outside run is aprox 160 square feet. The large room inside is aprox 74 squre ft. The small room is aprox 17 square ft. The two rooms together would be 91 square ft. Dh finally has his tractor fixed so the sand will be going in there soon. I was also given a whole bunch of greenhouse plastic that we are going to use to cover the whole run in the winter so they will still be able to go out.

What a great use of space! Lucky, lucky hens! You guys did a fabulous job! I could only dream of space like that for my gals... I hope you all enjoy it for many years to come!
