We have a serial killer and not enough cops to find him....

Quoted from the first post:
"In addition to being black, most of the victims have been old, disabled, small of stature or otherwise vulnerable..."
"...victims were all outside alone at night. Survivors have said the attacker approached them under the pretense of needing directions or help with a broken-down vehicle."
"He then pulls a knife and attacks them without saying anything more,"

As for the areas, I'm going to have to guess that they are all fairly bad neighborhoods, but possibly not the worst. Places where the stabber isn't likely to be out of place at late night and early morning. I don't spend a lot of time in Flint so I can't really say which neighborhoods.

That's fair enough for you. This story isn't about the police and whether or not they do their job how you like it. It's about a man who has attacked 13 people with the intent to kill and has killed 5 of those people. He's not likely to be caught until he screws up no matter how many officers are available.

Yeah, It took a long time, years, to catch the Green River killer and The Pig farmer in Vancouver who killed 49 prostitutes.

I worked in Flint for a whopping two months a year and a half ago.

It's bad. Really bad. Like, scary movie bad. I had to go to the neighborhood stores, where a white female should never, ever go alone - and that was in the morning when most of the scary folk are still in bed.

Flint is bad. It doesn't help they keep cutting the police more and more, but I understand, as there just is no income, no nothing there. It's like being in some sort of post-war ravaged city.

Within two months of working there I had been chased, threatened, and I had bleeding ulcers and vomited every morning. I called in on Monday and told them I quit, and refused to do two weeks or anything. I didn't need a reference from them that bad.

The news story doesn't surprise me. Flint is a perfect place for serial killers and other unstable folk. More abandoned homes than you can count, no police, no one cares.

If I never cross those city limits again, it would be too soon.

A daughter of my husband's cousin lived in Detroit until last month. She was found in the backseat of her car and all identity was gone----even the car's plate and other paper work was taken. She was only 21, and was not involved with anyone or in anything that would explain what happened to her. Just a good, decent college girl who apparently met up with the wrong person. She was probably trying to help someone out-----so very, very sad.

Man that is scary. I got cousins in Michigan, but they are not in Flint.
pretty bad about not having enough police.

We need a couple more full time deputies in our county, but no money to hire them.

There are area's in flint I won't walk through and I don't scare easily. I've been cut, shot, shot at, almost was car jacked at gunpoint, and now if I have to go to my son's oncologist at Hurley Hospital I have my .45 in my right hand (on my lap) as I drive until I get into the parking structure. Flint Mi is like a 3rd world country... Remember last season's "The Colony" and all the busted up, broken down, missing teeth, nasty mean folk? The buildings boarded up, filth in the streets, windows broke trash everywhere? I thought they were showing grand traverse near Atwood stadium. It is really that bad.

My wife was a mental health case manager, and her company's office was in the old carriage factory on the river. I bought her a .32 hammerless revolver that she refused to carry. She went into neighborhoods that I wouldn't even drive through. I later found out why she wasn't harassed... Everyone knew she was going to the house of the crazy/loony guy (every neighborhood has one) and kept him on his meds. They made sure she never had any problems.

It's good when people have the right priorities. Keep the crazy guy sane. Make sure he takes all his "don't-kill-the-neighbors" pills. +1 on the 1911 . Makes you feel slightly less defenseless. 11.5mm FTW.

I wonder if that's how the serial killer will met his end? He'll come across someone who reads the papers and got out their pappy's old gun, for the trip to the quickie mart.

My old company passed on a project, with Detroit Edison. They needed someone to make sure the street lamps were lit, at night and off in the day.

Driving slowly through inner city Detroit, at night, alone? Pass. My business partner wanted to do that job in South Africa. I told him, flat out "no".

That sounds like racially fueled crimes. I bet when they catch him they find out he's racist and hates black people. So sad that after all these years that people still act like that.
