WE JUST HAD AN EARTHQUAKE

The quake was located just to the northwest of the Pisgah Cinder cone... I hope that a volcano isn't coming to life.

I grew up 38 miles west of Mt St Helens. I still hate earthquakes.

I think the 12th is actually the perigee of the moon to the earth, not the fullmoon.

I just happen to be going to Seattle that night to stay. I hated Seattle for earthquakes. They always felt stronger there than back home.

When I lived in California, I used to work for Security Pacific Bank and the headquarters in downtown LA. I was on the 54th floor when the offshore Santa Monica quake hit. Talk about your thrill ride!

The building is built on rollers, after the Japanese style.

And when the Landers quake hit, the week before I had been looking at property up in Big Bear Lake Country, turns out one of the homes I had looked at was totally demolished during that quake. It was a fixer upper, it became a total rebuider after that.

It got to the point that unless it was a reall shaker, I hardly even noticed them anymore.

Back in the 80's when I moved to CA, the first night I was there we had a quake, luckily it was the rolling type not the jolting type. I can't stand them, they scare me. Tornadoes scare me too, I am used to Hurricanes, at least they are more predictable.

Last nights was just a shaker. Like I was sitting on a washing machine that was off balance. I hardly notice the small ones, but 5.5 is pretty up there.
