Thanks. We are not going to eat the egg because:
1. It has a small crack in it.
2. We do not eat the egg because the chickens could still possibly have the disease and we do not know if it passes to the egg or not.

I think Shadow laid the egg. She is my last remaining Production Red. You can see her pic on page 13. She is about 5 months old.

So sorry you had to go through all of these losses Maxx. Just saw this thread and it is really too bad you did not get more help from the state poultry lab. We have a great one here in GA, and I unfortunately had to call on their services when my girls started dying one by one. After the 4th one I contacted the lab and they took #5, who was sick and euthanized her. It turned out to be disseminated Mareks. I now have 2 left. What were your birds symptoms? I did see you saw some panting and I had that too, and it turns out she had tumors in her lungs. I also had pale combs and waddles in the sick ones, general lethargy and death. Sound familiar? If so, you might have had Mareks. The vet told me that if I get any more birds make sure they are vaccinated. You might want to do the same just to be on the safe side. Hopefully your remaining birds will be OK.
