We made the front page....and I need help

Just so you know...every website has tracking software (even my blog does), so it's simple to see where traffic is coming from, if people are linking here directly from the BYC post. All the paper has to do is follow the "trackback" to see this thread. It's a fairly simple and common practice, especially when you suddenly have a lot of traffic on an article that wouldn't normally get a lot of attention, and when that traffic appears to be coming from all over the place geographically.

The only way I can see to get around it (though it might be closing the coop door after the chickens are out) is to post the URL but NOT make it a "hot" (clickable) link. Let BYCers copy and paste the URL into their own browsers. That way the paper can see where each visit is coming from, but not how the visitors found the article.

Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea for them to find this forum. They might learn something!

Ok I went there and posted the following comment...
Ok, Mr. Kerr, why would the animals end up in the school? That makes no sense. I think you are being very close-minded to think that a family doesn't deserve to be able to choose the pet they keep. I can understand basic rules that you would have to enforce to ensure the safety of the community, but a chicken or a rabbit poses no threat, compared to some dogs.
All of you in that neighborhood better be prepared for Mr. Kerr to take action against your cats, dogs, hamsters, and parakeets...he could turn his attention to you next if you let him continue! Stand up for your neighbor's rights or you may not have any soon.

I hope this helps!

Rebecca that was great! I forgot to bring up the dangers of dogs...my husband had asked if I had said something about that. It just got me so mad that they would refuse ONE hen who is NO danger at all. And the chicken ending up in the school is just dumb.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am fairly well speechless- ask DH that NEVER happens.

Unless you have raised yourself an attack chicken I don't see the problem. Someone can keep a rottweiller near a school (gasp), but you can't keep a bunny or a chicken! What the heck!!

the city better get busy rounding up the those birds, squirrals, mice, moles, possums, they could come near the school and a kid might see a real live animal and you can't have that

What is the deal with keeping a rabbit or a chicken in the house?? The sanitation thing got me! I mean, we keeps dogs and cats and ferrets in the house and they poop EVERYWHERE until they are potty trained.

People have pet rats. Are those a sanitation issue???!!

And how in the world would your chickens get in the school?!!
