We Quit Cigarettes

This quitter is still on the wagon, although I did fall off briefly about 3 days ago. That one no good friend, and all that crap.
I've been taking looooooongggg walks with the kids and it seems to help the cravings but it does NOT help this stupid aching knee of mine! 5.5 miles today.

Couple pics from today.
Keep it up -- you can do it!
Is this friend of yours encouraging you to smoke, or is it just that they themselves smoke, and that makes you crave a cigarette?
Best of luck to you, ShannonR! I hope that your knee feels better soon.

They smoke and it makes me need to smoke too! Just being at that place makes me want to smoke. I've been making an effort to minimize my time there

I agree with Sour.
If I think I might have an issue...I avoid that situation, period.
It has worked for me.

Further into recovery this may no longer be necessary. I can be around people drinking and feel no cravings whatsoever. Folks chewing tobacco at a field trial - that's a slightly different story. There are times that nicotine still calls with the Siren's voice.

People, places, and things can all be triggers. When beating an addiction it sometimes becomes necessary to change/eliminate them.
Which can be as, or more, difficult than giving up the addictive substance.

Never forget my hubby saying in amazement when he quit drinking ...
"I never knew so many people didn't drink".....even non-alcoholics.
