We Quit Cigarettes

Further into recovery this may no longer be necessary. I can be around people drinking and feel no cravings whatsoever. Folks chewing tobacco at a field trial - that's a slightly different story. There are times that nicotine still calls with the Siren's voice.
I agree again.
I am able to stand near a smoker smoking and not be bothered, now.

Which can be as, or more, difficult than giving up the addictive substance.

Never forget my hubby saying in amazement when he quit drinking ...
"I never knew so many people didn't drink".....even non-alcoholics.

I've become a champion on detecting the 'sneaky' drinkers. Those with alcohol on their breath at nine in the morning. There are many functional alcoholics.

Oh, yes, am well aware, grew up with it.
Then there are the ones who don't drink in the morning but are just so hung over or brain damaged they don't function well.
But these were truly people who didn't drink habitually,
who could socialize and have fun without drinking.

I’ve never really understood those people. The ones that HAVE to do it to have fun. I mean I get why people would choose to but not the ones who literally can’t have fun without it if I’m making sense.

Those are the addicts...it has taken over.
