We Quit Cigarettes

Kiki -- the first book has an anime adaptation, but it was originally a novel. There are eight volumes total in the series, but only the first two have been translated into English.
I just can't do cartoons, dinosaurs, made up monsters, aliens, TARDIS things, Star Wars.... apes....🤮
 
Those sound like big VCI books. I am sporadically reading Alberts' cell biology textbook, and a few other science books, mainly biology.
Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor? Very Clean Iguana?
I have a thermodynamics book I'm working on off-and-on, plus a sociolinguistics text. I own those, though, so I didn't count them as on my "recently" read list. The ones I mentioned are all from the library.

VCI = verbal ability, the only thing I'm not completely crippled at, LOL.
 
I wish I didn't have a V / NV discrepancy, maybe then I'd be better at math, LOL.
Hey. I sucked at math when I was your age. I still do—it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. Simply being too stubborn to quit will get you far, much farther than an innate ability will.
