I don't know what's up with me. It's not getting any better!

Give it time, remember you have lots of people who are here with you, I don't know when it gets better. Perhaps it's different for each of us. However, you are a good, strong Lady, and I know you are able to stand up to this (even when it feels like you can't) If @Kiki can do it so can we, we are not going to let Kiki beat us at this. Hang in there, we will get past tomorrow like we did today. Hard work, determination and friends who are here for us.

So, I just caught up on last night and today's ramblings. A few pages back ya'll were talking about ducks staying with chickens? Will they stay in the same coop? What about turkeys? Can they stay with them too? I want some ducks for sure. Are they cold hardy! I'm in Illinois.

Turkeys are iffy. IME the toms don't notice the chickens of either sex are even there. Some of the hens are all right. All were when young, or at least mine were. When older, some started brutalizing the chickens--no passion--just relentless, half-bored pecking that in one case resulted in a girl with bare patches that will not grow feathers again. Lucky I caught it in time.

Ducks will chase the chickens away from feed or water when they want it. When the geese want something, everyone else including the biggest toms scatters. Other than that, they eat/drink and wander off and pay the other birds no notice. Why would royalty acknowledge the peasantry?

My youngest daughter recently turned 40.

Hey Urs, don't let one comment ruin your whole mood. I find it's helpful to laugh it off or just put the phone down and stress clean for an hour or so before making any brash decisions.
The internet is hard to navigate and we say things in text that we'd never dream of saying in person. Best to not sweat the small stuff.

That being said, I've loved this thread and some of you I sincerely consider to be real friends. That's why I took a few days to chew on this before saying anything. I don't know how many people care, but I'm quitting BYC for some time. I find it's very hard on my mental health to be so personal with people who are still so distant, or who don't neccesarily reciprocate or can't understand.
I thought I'd give y'all the courtesy of a heads up instead of ghosting for months like I have in the past. I hope this isn't weird, and sorry for the bad timing.
I'll occasionally check back for PM's or targeted messages when I remember.

I'm not seeing it this way.

It's Dumbo the flying elephant's magic feather. The crows gave it to him and he thought he couldn't fly without it, but it was just a trick. They had already seen him flying in his sleep. He believed in the feather though, and so he flew until he lost it one day. He had to fly to save his mother and the crows confessed that the feather was not where the magic came from. It was in little Dumbo himself. It was scary, but he did it. Dumbo flew without his magic feather and saved his mama.

A lot of people keep ducks and chickens together.
I don't think it's a good idea to keep either with turkeys though.

Isn't there a potential health problem with keeping Turkeys with ducks and chickens? Some kind of black head thingie?
