We Quit Cigarettes

Make sure YOU know the true numbers so you can console him. The media is spinning this to make it more dramatic and dangerous than it is. Ratings. 🙄 The flu is always dangerous, and especially for your sake and that of other immune-compromised people, I'm glad they're sending the kids home. They should do that every flu season. But the media exaggerate to the point of absolute lying. It's disgusting. Frightening little children like this--and also scaring beyond any reasonable need, the teachers of little children. 😡
I don't even watch the news. Honestly I stopped watching in many years ago when they started showing pit bulls attacking people and blowing it up. I see nothing positive on the news so I'd rather not watch it.

Did you stop the blue pills Kiki? How is you're headache now?

I ask you because its too much work to read the whole thread with all the interaction which has nothing to do with stopping bad habits. Like wanting to find the needle in a haystack.

But I’m still curious how all the stoppers doing. Are you all on board?
Still on board. Still falling off occasionally, but good progress.

He knew more about it than I did and he told me his teachers have been talking about it for weeks.

My husband was looking at the numbers of people who have lived from it and he was asking why they're not showing that number.
The overall fatality rate is 1%. Higher than with the common flu, but still pretty low compared to other everyday risks. Of course there's no denying it's significantly higher for you. For my DH also as he had a BM transplant. I rescheduled my yearly checkup set for today for next month. Taking prudent steps is just smart. Some stranger scaring the bejeebies out of your kids is not, even though her motivations are doubtless pure.

I personally think we were better primary education back when groups of settlers hired a local girl who had passed her teacher's test to educate their dozen or so children in a one room schoolhouse they had built with their own hands. I mean that literally. Then if the flu, etc. was going around, everyone could just stay home and try to keep warm. No big deal about that. OTOH medical care has come a LONG way since then, and we both have concrete personal reasons to be grateful for that.

We don't either, but the teachers very likely do.

Ya'll know it's Friday the 13th ? Everybody put that fighting face on! Be tough-mean-and stay focused on you journey‼‼ 🚬🚬🚬🚬☠☠☠❌🚫❌🚫. No smoking, drinking, or killing someone. Deal? Deal. Good night folks! I treasure each and every one of you. Thank for getting me though this day!
This is my "lucky number".... I'll write the small story later (like I referenced late last night)... Not gonna try typing that on phone screen.

Yes, it is disgusting. The news is supposed to be there to keep people updated on nationwide and worldwide happenings, not to scare people and instill terror in children. I hate it when people purposefully try to freak people, and especially children, out -- like Greta Thunberg; the girl can't be more than sixteen (no, wait, she's seventeen) and yet look at what's been done to her! She should be in school, spending time with friends, not speaking in front of the freaking United Nations about climate change. It's disgusting and awful.
I digressed there for a bit, sorry.

My husband was looking at the numbers of people who have lived from it and he was asking why they're not showing that number.
Completely agree. It's like they want people to panic -- heck, maybe they actually do want that.
I don't want to get any more political. Sorry about all that -- I'll just stop right here and break off and do my usual....
Keep it up, everyone! :hugs

@Kiki hope you're still doing good and @webbysmeme hope you are too. I'm not sure who else is joining in but I think @Meg-in-MT was cutting down so I hope you're sucessful with cutting back some more today!

Hope everyone is staying unstressed because stress won't help anything. Go for a walk to get those feel good hormones going.
Thanks, FC! 8 yesterday.

BIL used suckers for the hand to mouth habit. He quit suckers a couple months later.
Always carry a towel. It's almost time to read Adams again. Have you consumed the works of Spider Robinson? If not, I highly recommend it. Unless you are injured by pointedly pointless puns. Then avoid them. They will murder you.

Good tips on the meditation. I'll drop into it without thinking now to calm down and focus. Been decades of practice. Really pisses Crazy Lady off. A two-fer!

RUM! Makes you want to holler hi-de-ho!

Loved the self portrait. The Wild Turkey on the table of the turkey keeper tickled me. Hidden meanings are everywhere.

Or for Conan, redrum! Speaking of which, have we seen the feisty St. Patrick's celebration hair do?
Pun-tastic. I will add to my long list of to reads.

Good morning, saner than normal people!! All I see, everywhere i go is about Coronavirus. Get over it already, folks.
My school hasn't been cancelled yet.... but I wish they would hurry up and do it just to save me some gas and daycare money!!! The older toddler just started preschool a couple months ago, and he has been pulled out of school for a while now because he has a bad case of snot nose that has been coming and going for weeks now. Looks like the little guy has some snot nose going on this morning as well. Oh, the horror.......!! ha.

This doom and gloom has got to stop. But, I will probably stay home as much as I can so as to avoid stirring up the lemmings. Finish my coffee, do some laundry, already have dinner getting started in the crock pot. I have lots of toilet paper, I got this.....
