I seem to be able to breathe slightly better today than I could a few days ago. My sense of smell is not all the way back yet, but I am hoping it will return soon. Cravings yesterday and this morning greatly diminished.

@webbysmeme , don't cave in now!! I hope you didn't sneak a shot or three out of a bottle, I know how bad that temptation is. It is certainly important to get the booze out of your house ASAP, though. I think if you do more explaining, in smaller words, your husband will do his best by you. His best may not be what you want, but there WILL be improvement in the situation!

@Kiki , keep it up, you got this!!! Almost a month now, your progress is incredible.

To everyone else reducing or quitting, keep moving forward. Think of all the money you are saving by not smoking! The health benefits are enormous too. How is @jolenesdad doing, have not heard from him in a few days??

whether the other people are drinking/using or not.

This is true. The vast majority of men are inconceivably dense. Not their fault--usually. They see big things. Important things. Like Mongol hordes descending on the village. They will not try to talk the horde out of attacking. They will grab their well-maintained swords and rush out en-masse to defend you. They'll come back with their shield or on it. But they will not figure out that you are quitting ALL the drugs ALL at once. Such a thing would scare the h-e-double-toothpicks out of them.

I don't have very many pictures on my computer -- this shot and the broody shot of Najika are the only ones I have to work with... and they're cropped (heh, pun) for an avatar. I'll move some pictures onto my computer over the weekend. Then you'll get some motivational pictures with a different glaring face. Or maybe the same face, but a different angle. Najika is the sternest-looking hen I have. Really. Su is excellent at looking just... sarcastic. So is Yotsuba. All my ISAs are good at looking sarcastic and so done with the world, actually, but Najika's the angry-looking one.
She looks like a rooster. And her spurs are a half-inch long and very pointy... she's suffered a broken toe and a broken ankle, but both healed perfectly fine -- her ankle has a noticeable lump, and her toe now seems to have a ellipsodal joint where it broke -- and she went broody twice in three or four months last spring.
Somehow, she isn't the top hen in the pecking order. That's Su, the one who would be wearing glasses and constantly making snarky remarks if she were human.
Yeah, my beak is totally sealed! Can you tell?
