From my college days in the dorm, a few close female friends had a curious dialogue that ended with someone 'borrowing' a small scale from one of the science dept labs......Put one on the scale I want proof.
The object was to be able to look at a chick without picking it up and be able to know which breed or mix it was.

That was not permitted. They were being taken to the morgue for disposal. They probably should have been in a covered bowl to keep prying eyes from seeing them. They really did jiggle like a bowl full of jelly.
