I have a 2 yr old Tufted Roman gander that is weak and stumbling around when he tries to stand up. He was fine yesterday. Nothing is broken and there are no wounds. Hes acting just like a gosling with Niacin deficiency. It has been really dry here so the grass is not lush and green right now, Can adult geese get Niacin deficient?

I put a dose of niacin down him with a syringe about 5 minutes after i posted this. So we will see what happens. He seems a little better now. I hope he makes it, he is my only gander from my tufted trio.

Mr. Daddy Tufted has made a full recovery. He is still being kept in the hospital for a week just to be sure he doesnt have a relapse. Im so glad hes better. I didnt raise him, he was full grown and never handled when i got him but i have been able to carry him around when i want and give him treats since about a month after i got him.

That´s great. Do you think the niacin helped? maybe just give them a top-up now and again during the dead-grass months....
