. on the brightside with something so large happening im sure its a fix that will happen sooner then later, in the meantime is there a way to stop the redirection through a plugin or setting of some kind i wonder?

Yes, please let us know! It is still happening

I just did an internet search -- there is a repeat of last week's malvertising attacks going on, which is what is setting off all the page redirection. It is google ads that are getting taken over. I am going to post two links (if this doesn't get hijacked while I'm doing it), but one way to stop it is supposedly to turn off flash player. I haven't tried it yet.

Meanwhile, it looks as though the redirection could be spreading viruses through the malvertising, but again, I don't know enough about this to say. Apparently the stuff last week was limited -- the viruses only got through to folks running older software.

Here's the links, there's more information in there.

Well, I'm wrong... those articles were from September

But it seems like it may be the same sort of thing... the Malwarebytes blog post explains the process pretty clearly.

I cannot use the BYC app on my iPhone at all due to this. It goes something like this: click on thread, page loads, AD. Back button, click thread again, read 3 words on page, AD. Back button, AD, back button, find thread again, AD. Repeat on endless loop. If I go through my browser instead, it's not nearly as bad. I can at least catch up on something without being interrupted as frequently.

Glad it isn't just me and I'm happy to hear that it's being worked on. :)

If you go into the settings on your web browser's firewall, you can tell it to not allow pages to be redirected or to notify you, but then it is a nuisance because there are times you need the pages to change...

Here's an article from January 8th about malvertising that apparently acts like what we've been seeing:

https://blog.malwarebytes.org/malve...ined-total-monthly-traffic-of-1-5bn-visitors/

Apparently something like this is also happening as "twitter spam"

https://blog.malwarebytes.org/fraud-scam/2015/01/fake-cnn-twitter-feeds-spam-weight-loss-links/

The weird thing I'm noticing is that it seems much more intense on certain BYC threads than on others... that's just plain weird.
