Webcam in the bator...hatch done...cam in the brooder - Thanks all!

Your Egg Cam is really nice, I have been checking in off and on for two days. I just watched a buff who had just recently hatched flop around and drag itself out of range.
It is always fun to watch them hatch. Lots of time invested getting to that place where they actually do it but well worth the while. I am sure the kids at school were thrilled.
Thanks for sharing.

Just helped out the slow one. She'd been hanging half-hatched for almost 24 hours and just figured it was time to help out a bit as she seemed to be getting weaker.

The membranes were totally stuck like cement. I cleaned off with warm water and pulled them back a bit so she could get out on her own.

We'll have to keep an eye on that one.

The other buff in there still has a bit of membrane/sac attached, so they can stay together until it dries up and falls off.

I've got one more with a good pip going - I'll have to move it back over since those buffs keep pushing it out of the way. Then there are the other 6 in the back of the bator with no pips yet.

I candled earlier and saw movement in at least 2 of them, so all is not lost on those. I did go ahead and make a small pip in the large end since we are at the close of day 22. Don't want them to run out of air before they get a chance to finish hatching. I'll leave them in at least 2 more days just to give them a chance.

Stay tuned...hope to have at least one more out this evening!

Oh, and the feed went out earlier because I had to reboot my PC - sorry about that - we should be up and running for the forseeable future...

I just saw a dark colored chick make the final push out of its shell. That little chick timed its arrival just perfectly for my webcam visit.

Are there many more left to hatch now?

Look at all those little guys in there! This is such a great treat, it really is. What do you have lining the incubator for them to flop around on, is it a towel of some sort, or a paper towel?
