My little one seems to be on the mend, I started putting olive oil on her injured eye yesterday, and today. coincidently I started her on an antibiotic water this morning, and gave her a little yolk.
I gave the entire groupa serving of spinach today, that was pretty funny. It took them awile to figure out how great it was! then they all gobbled it up including our little injured one.
shes so tiny, and I worry that she isint "thriving" But she was running around with all her peeps and eating, and drinking, and fighting for spinach.
She even had both eyes open by this afternoon. so heres hoping for continued strength.

Good to hear yours is getting better! ..mine still has the occasional itchy fits, they seem less intense than before though. She is on day 4 antibiotics and yesterday tried a mite/lice/flea product but this morning she was still itching.. the other one luckily is not itching much anymore..not sure what else to try, this is getting so frustrating....

Bitsy: have you had yours vaccinated against Marek's disease? My hatchery contacted me today and they suspect this may be a vaccine reaction.. I do not know if this good or bad news, yet...

No we hatched her here in our home, so all she is on is medicated feed. she appears to be moving up in the healthy department, faster stronger happy little chick

Hi everyone.. I was hoping to get an update on these chicks as I have a newly hatched chick doing the same thing. She will be laying there sleeping and then all of a sudden scratching, flailing and peeping like mad.

Any ideas what it was and what made it better?

This one is in the brooder with pine shavings and 6 others. I am giving Sav-A-Chic in the water and they have some boiled egg in there now. They were hatched in my home, not a hatchery.

Thanks!

Me two, I have one out of three chicks doing the some thing. We are on the 3rd day of this. What is going on with these little babies? What have you tryed? did it help?

Just wondering what happened with those who had the chick problem. I have one that has the same problem and I have no idea what to do to help her. She is a week old and has usually 2 or 3 episodes a day for the last 3 days. Eye is swollen shut and after the episode she will eat, drink and seem normal. The other chicks do pick at her a bit, so I'm worried about that as well. Hate to see the poor thing suffer!

i noticed mine doing this yesterday, kinda freaked out when i read alot of the forums. I did noticed her nostril was blocked with feed dust, im in the process of moisten with a cotton tip and clearing the blockage. im certain this is the cause. will update this thread with my results.

I alos noticed your chick pictures, its has a blocked nostril
